Contest for Humane Society Grant
This is an out and out begging thread. I am throwing all caution to the wind. Picture me groveling! There are only a few more days to vote for our Humane Society. We are registering approximately .06 % per day in votes. The other Shelter that is in first place is going at about .03% per day. If it keeps going at this rate we will be tied on the 17th. The contest ends on the 18th. Please see if there are any friends you could possibly get to help us by voting for our Shelter. We have come so far in the last week and a half thanks to all of you who are voting and your votes are so greatly appreciated. Cross your fingers for us. Feel free to tell all of your friends and family that I am begging for votes. Keep voting and wishing for us.

Just thought that I'd let you know that I passed on the info to my DD & a good friend. I'm sure they will vote & pass it on. I've missed voting a couple of days while I've been sick but will be sure to make it every day now that I'm feeling better & can think straight.

Thank You! I hope we can pull ahead and win. Even if not, we sure are giving them a run for the money!

We are at 2.69 % of the votes, up .12 % from yesterday.
They are at 2.76%, up .04% from yesterday.
We are so close to passing them. I am crossing everything!
THANK YOU all for voting. I am so excited I could pee. Oh wait, no, that is my dog.

Re: Contest for Humane Society Grant
We are so close but the other shelter must be pulling out their big guns as they got .07 % of the votes since yesterday and we got .08 %
For a while we were pulling more and they were pulling less. This is going to be so close. But unless we up our votes and theirs gets lower, we may not make it. We are trying so very hard. Your votes are definitely helping. Crossing all my crossibles and knocking on wood. Change the saying on the sign to say "Go Houghton Go" and "Thank You Voters"

Re: Contest for Humane Society Grant
Thank You, I can't remember the last time I felt like I was sitting on the edge of my seat. I just know that I am feeling it now. If I could, I would go to a huge city and hand out flyers to every person I met. It is such a close race now. (((((HUGGS))))) to all who are helping.
And a nudge with a whispered PLEASE to those who aren't. *spreading out honey from the beehives* (with a thanks to all the pretty flowers whose pollen was used to make the honey) *and dumping away the vinegar* I am trying to catch all of the flys who haven't voted yet.

Re: Contest for Humane Society Grant
I was looking through the thread and realized the link to the voting isn't actually here.
Laurie, I didn't see anything about not posting outside links, but if we're not supposed to, Whoops!

Choose MI for the State, and Houghton for the City - the shelter will come up. Then vote!
WE ARE CURRENTLY IN THE LEAD!! but only by a hair's breadth! Keep voting, please!

Yes, please keep voting. We are in 1st place and hopefully we can keep the lead! Right now I am as happy as a pig in poop! Also as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. I really wish it were Monday morning and all of this nerve wracking anticipation was over.

Re: Contest for Humane Society Grant
My excitement is bursting out of every cell in my body!
Here are the stats for today.
We are still in first place - 3.11 % of the votes. An increase of .17%
They have 3.00 % of the votes. An increase of .11 %
So we now lead by .11 % < this sign says "Go Houghton"
< This one says "THANK YOU"
I am keeping everything crossed and am knocking on wood. This could still flip-flop on us.
Thank You all so much for helping with the votes.
The voting goes until Sunday night at midnight AND it says they will announce the winner on Wednesday!
That means, it will be blind voting from here through the end. They have never posted the results on Sundays. So, it will be pins and needles from this point on.
Please keep voting!

Yes, I have the first 3 of my votes in. You can vote up to three times on one computer. Once with IE, once with Google Chrome and once with Firefox. I just found that out yesterday or the day before. So, yes, I have voted! I am going to go crazy with anticipation until they announce the winner.

Re: Contest for Humane Society Grant
This is the last day to vote. I've gotten my votes in. Have I told you how wonderful I think you all are? I am keeping everything crossed until Wednesday. I am so excited I can't seem to sit still. (Even if only in my mind!)
Then it was a busy day with my niece and nephews. They were picking up rocks and things in the alleyway while I slowly put up the screen tent thingie on the deck. This is one I will pay dearly for tomorrow. Already my hands are charlie-horsing. Mostly my left hand but I am sure that by later this evening I will be in rough shape. My hips and knees are going to go into protest mode. I should have asked my brother to help but he and my sis-in-law were busy putting a new roof on their back porch. Couldn't ask my dad as he is recuperating from his sore back. The handy man was busy, busy doing other work. So I did it but it dragged out for many hours. Then the guy who does handy man stuff for my dad helped me by making a ramp for my dad's dog.
Whoops, got sidetracked, my nephew came over and wanted to watch a movie. We watched "Wild Hogs". I laughed my ass off. Laughter really is the best medicine. So I am finally relaxing and taking time to finish what I started. So, happy Sunday to all.
